We are a small animal practice in Taunton, first established before the First World War. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at our surgeries.
Louise has worked at the practice since May 2001. She qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2007 when she was made head nurse. Louise is also the practice assessor. Her interests include medical nursing and behaviour. She has many pets at home including three dogs, a cat, a horse and a chinchilla.
Jenna Edwards RVN
Jenna is a registered veterinary nurse who joined the team in 2018, splitting her time between both the Norton and Lisieux practices. She started nursing in 2010 and enjoys all aspects of her job, especially when it comes to cats. Jenna is currently studying towards a certificate in advanced feline nursing and has also completed her dental nurse certificate. Jenna also plans to soon become a clinical coach and pass on her skills to new student nurses. At home she has three rescue cats, Eric, Greyie and Jinxy, and has also recently taken on a very cheeky Chihuahua called Sydney. In her spare time she likes to broaden her horizons and is a qualified make-up artist and also bakes wedding cakes. Jenna is making the most of her time in the countryside after living in Kent for most of her life.
Lynne Everington RVN
Lynne qualified from Langford – Bristol Vet School in 1994 and spent many years nursing in a variety of mixed and small animal practises in the home counties and Bristol. In 2004 she took a career break to bring up her son and in 2009 moved with her family to a small farm in Taunton where she set up a livery yard. In 2016 Lynne returned to veterinary nursing in a small animal practice in Taunton, where she gained her PSP (period of supervised practise) to re-join the Royal Collage of Veterinary Surgeons list of registered veterinary nurses. Lynne enjoys all aspects of nursing especially surgical and dermatology. She has two German Wirehaired Pointers with whom she works blood tracking, as well as two horses and three cats.
Kirsty Tucker RVN
Kirsty has been lucky enough to work within the animal sector for many years, firstly at Longleat Safari Park as a lion, tiger and wolf warden, before working within veterinary practices. Since joining the Tone Vets team she has qualified as a veterinary nurse and couldn’t be happier. Her interests lie in helping the elderly patients that have some day to day struggles; she also has to be dragged away from all the little dogs like Chihuahuas, that she has been known to carry around all day! Since starting her nursing career she has been “lucky” enough to re-home a very naughty Basset Hound called Humphrey, as well as an equally naughty kitty named Hufflepuff.
Jess Yeates RVN
Jess has always enjoyed working with animals and joined us as an animal care assistant after studying the diploma in animal management for two years at Cannington College. Since then Jess has started and finished two years of nurse training and is now a fully qualified veterinary nurse. She also runs our puppy training courses which are held at the Norton Fitzwarren surgery. In her spare time Jess enjoys training her Spaniel, Truffle, in agility. She also helps out at a local Brownie unit where she is an adult leader.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Chloe completed her veterinary care assistant course at Cannington College in June 2017 and is now working towards her nursing qualification. She loves the excitement and variety within veterinary practice and looks forward to every new challenge. In the past she has volunteered for Secret World and loves working with all small furries. In her spare time Chloe loves reading and playing with her seven cats. She is interested in specialising in feline studies after her qualification.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Georgia loves animals which is why she studied animal management at college, with hopes to progress to veterinary nursing in the future. While at college, she did some work experience at RSPCA West Hatch which helped her learn to work with a variety of animals. Georgia has been working in veterinary practice since 2017 and is currently working towards becoming a qualified vet nurse. In her spare time she enjoys riding at her local equestrian centre where she used to volunteer and walking her crazy Spaniel, Berry.
Patient Care Assistant
Jade has recently joined us as a veterinary care assistant providing invaluable support to all of our vets and nurses. She is currently studying at Bridgwater College to gain her VCA qualification and her ambition is to become a veterinary nurse. She hopes to gain the necessary practical and academic skills to do this here with us at Tone Vets. In her spare time she likes socialising with her friends, horse riding and walking her red boxer Bubbles.
