We are a small animal practice in Taunton, first established before the First World War. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at our surgeries.
Sasha joined the practice in August 2019 – after working for eight years in two local veterinary practices. She is a qualified pet bereavement counsellor and has previously completed her animal first aid training. Outside of working, Sasha has the travel bug and loves to see and experience all corners of the world – she enjoys hiking mountains, wildlife photography and getting lost on the hills with her rescue pooch Bobby. She recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and whilst doing so, raised money for the charity Bobby was re-homed from.
Tanya is originally from Norwich and spent many years in London before moving to Spain in 2004. Previously she worked for The Donkey Sanctuary as a groom until 2007, when she then moved to Sidmouth in Devon to work at the main farm of The Donkey Sanctuary in the education department, and then onto the vet department as a groom until 2003. Tanya has also worked at two vet practices as a receptionist in Exeter and more recently as a booking co-ordinator at St Giles boarding kennels. At home she has three small dogs, two of which she rescued in Spain and brought back with her, as well as a tortoise called Herbie. In her spare time Tanya enjoys kayaking and swimming.
Nicki has recently returned to Tone Vets after spending some years working for Volkswagen. Animals are her first love sharing her home with five cats, two dogs and her other half Simon. Nicki is a daughter of a local farmer and shares her father’s passion for the great outdoors and animal welfare. She is delighted to have returned to Tone Vets and being part of a caring animal environment.
Janet has worked at Tone Vets since 1998 and qualified as a veterinary healthcare advisor in 2005. Her hobbies include long walks with her Miniature Schnauzers, Millie and Poppy, spending quality time with her family, card making and reading.
Amanda joined Tone Veterinary Centre as a receptionist in June 2014, having moved back to Somerset from Bristol after leaving university. She worked in a similar position for several years in Bristol and was delighted to find a similar role closer to home. Outside of work, most of her free time is spent looking after her own animals, of which there are currently nine – one dog, seven guinea pigs and a badly behaved tortoise.
Heidi had previously worked for the Morley brothers at the Bridge Street Veterinary Centre for four years before becoming a civil servant. In the last two years she changed her career to that of a dog walker/dog groomer. In April 2015 Heidi joined the team at Tone Vets as a receptionist.
Julie has worked at the practice since October 2011. Julie is a local girl who has previously worked at the County Hotel as a receptionist and Monkton Elm Garden Centre where she opened and managed the coffee shop. In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her dog Oscar and spending quality time with her family.
