We are a small animal practice in Taunton, first established before the First World War. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at our surgeries.
Kobus qualified as a veterinary surgeon in South Africa in 1995 and he has been practising in the UK since March 1999. He has experienced many different veterinary environments, including owning his own practice and managing various small animal practices across the UK. His last employment was at the University of Bristol’s vet school, where he managed all the clinical activities of the veterinary practices, including the referral hospital. Kobus joined Tone Veterinary Centre in 2010 with one goal in mind: to care for your pet as much as you do. He used to compete in competitive dog agility, but now cycling has taken up all his spare time.
Elizabeth Hill BVetMed MRCVS GPCert(SAS)
Elizabeth qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1988 and has spent most of her time working with companion animals. During her time there she passed the ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. She left West Hatch in 2013 returning to private practice and locum work. At home, in addition to her husband and two teenagers, she has three dogs, two cats, two horses and three hens. She can be found most weekends in her other role of groom to teenage daughter at horse events. Having spent most of 2016 doing maternity cover and locum work for Tone Vets she was delighted to be given a permanent position and very much looks forward to caring for your animals with the rest of the team.
Ben Thomas MRCVS
Having qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1999, Ben has spent the last 15 years gaining a vast amount of experience and honing his veterinary skills, first in Huntingdon and then in Hertfordshire. Ben became a vet because of his love of animals and he came to Tone Veterinary Centre with the promise that he would do his absolute utmost to help your pets live long, healthy, happy lives.
Victoria Woods MRCVS BVMedSci BVM BVS
Victoria qualified from the University of Nottingham in July 2016, and has worked here at Tone since then. She grew up in Taunton and has been a familiar face here at our practice, having started work experience with us aged 12 – so she is very excited to now be a member of our team. Victoria is especially interested in pain management and working with our elderly patients. She lives nearby to our Lisieux Way branch, and has two dogs of her own; Preston, an English Pointer and Molly, a Miniature Schnauzer. In her spare time she enjoys walking, running, horse riding and plays netball for a Taunton team. Victoria has always wanted to be a vet and help people with their animals, and she is looking forward to meeting you all and your pets.
